Flash Report, 4-11: 100 G's
Dance Insider Tops 100,000 Visitors in March

The Dance Insider Online, the largest dance presence on the Internet, received 100,000 monthly visitors for the first time in its history last month, according to Urchin Reports, up from 73,000 in February and nearly double September's 55,000 visitors.

Readers' favorite pages were, in order, the Flash Review Archive, one of the few free archives in dance journalism; the About/Contact page, which includes biographies of the DI's dancer-writers and staff; the Dance Insider Directory, the leading dance directory in the world; Julie Lemberger's Dance Insider Photo Album, featuring the Martha Graham Dance Company; an advertising page devoted to Body Wrappers, the New York manufacturer of team and dance apparel and the sponsor of Dance Insider Flash Reviews from the U.S. and Europe; Francis Mason's 2002 interview with American Ballet Theatre superstar Ethan Stiefel; an archive of the DI's leadership coverage of the travails and performances of the Graham company over the past six years; DI publisher Paul Ben-Itzak's Buzz column, which features scoops and commentary on dance news from around the world; and the Hot Classified section.

The Dance Insider Online is the leading publication in any medium, online or in print, reaching the professional dance community, also reaching tens of thousands of dance teachers and serious dance students every month. In the latest Dance Insider Reader Survey, 44 percent of readers identified as professional dancers; 40 percent as choreographers; 38 percent as dance enthusiasts; 31 percent as teachers; 23 percent as students; 17 percent as dance company directors; 14 percent as other dance administrators; 13 percent as media; 7 percent as parents of dancers; 5 percent as dance department or dance studio directors; and 5 percent as dancer companions.

The DI is read in more than 150 countries, according to Urchin Reports, with 82 percent of visitors coming from the United States.
